Legacy July Conference 2010 Report -
05/07/2010
THANK YOU EVERONE FOR PRAYING!!!! I hope to give you a snapshot picture of what God did in Legacy this weekend, but in reality we never will know the full extent of how he moved. We never will be able to comprehend, number or even imagine the changes He made in the hearts of the young people. However, we did see with our physical eyes, hear with our ears and feel in our spirits evidences of His hand moving at Legacy.
This Legacy conference was Awesome, again! We are all humbled by His great love for us. One of the reigning themes in the conference was His great love for us, coupled with the song from Kim Walker “Oh How He loves US”. To see the youth shamelessly worship and sing to God with these words on their lips brought tears to our eyes numerous times.
"There seems to be a Spirit of Destiny here". This was another continual recognition - Spirit of Destiny. The theme of the conference was Influencing the 7 spheres of society - Exodus come join the line. The guest speakers continually shared on how we CAN impact every area society, how our light can penetrate the darkness and how having a kingdom mindset in these areas will change a nation and bring prosperity to our lives and to our society. We examined every area of influnece and imagined a picture of how each area would look if there were passionate, strong, Godly young men and woman arising and impacting that sphere. It seems that we could PHYSICALLY see the lights turn on in their minds as they dared to believe that this was possible!!! God dared to believe it is possible, He dared to believe that they could have a place in this world, He dared to believe in their destiny and we could see that the youth were just beginning to believe it too! Absolutely beautiful transactions took place!
One leader shared how in 5 or 10 years from now Belize would be a different place to live just from observing the youth that were present. It was amazing as we could see in the eyes of the LYM youth hope, belief rising up in their heart as they declared “I WILL BE A HISTORY MAKER”. They were able to see that when they forgive and move on to fulfill their destiny, Belize could be a different place. One youth shared that he will do things differently in his life from watching how our families relate to one another at Legacy, he will change history in Belize because he sees a different model in front of him.
Below is a post we saw on facebook this morning as one of the LYM youth heads to University summer classes: "first day of summer courses! Lord, please guide me through this new page of my life. Thank you Lord, for everything You have done for me. Be with me, Lord, so I shall not fail or wander off the right track. I pray for the Holy Spirit to live in me so I can keep the fire of love for Jesus burning fiercely within me." WHAT A POWERFUL declaration!
Friends, it's difficult to paint a picture of Legacy to you, but we want you to know that YOU had a huge part in this conference. The prayers and inceression you made on behalf of the young people are what opened the way for us to go DEEP this year. There was a depth in this conference that we didn't reach at any other conference. A lot of the ministry time happened one on one, students with leaders, God with students... it was personal and it was beautiful.
Thank you again for praying, it was VERY difficult leading up to the conference and I believe that your prayes brought strength and hope to our heart. We must confess that there aren't many pictures or videos of this conference?! Most of us were too involved in what God was doing and didn't even think about pictures and videos! Perhaps some will trickle out on facebook, but again, know that your prayers were a HUGE part of what God was able to do at LYM this weekend.
Love,
Jason & Sara on behalf of Legacy
